Player Stats

Download here the individual player stats for this season (up to January 18, 2010).

The file has two sheets: one has players ranked by most z-points (column AE) while the other ranks players by most z-points per real point (column AG). This second metric is really useful to assess the quality of points scored.

Some quick notes on player stats:

  • Sundiata Gaines is the NBA leader in z-points per point scored. Of course we have to take this with a grain of salt, since the rookie has only played nine games this season and has scored only a few points. On January 14th, Gaines hit a super-clutch three to beat the Cavs.
  • Of the league’s superstars, Chris Paul stands out as the player with most z-points per point scored. After that we have Nowitzki, Garnett, Iverson, Nash, LeBron, Kobe and Wade.
  • In the first spots we find a lot of players who have consistently shown their ability to perform in the clutch: Earl Boykins, Raymond Felton, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, Carl Landry, Jason Terry, Lou Williams, Derrick Rose, Aaron Brooks, Nate Robinson, David West…
