Power Rankings

Bin-a-Hoop Power Ranking rates teams according to the quality of their winning record (Methodology).

The latest Power Ranking is out.

  • Boston takes the #1 spot this week. The Celtics cruised to a 3-0 week as they beat Minnesota, Indiana and Orlando without much trouble.
  • The Lakers went 3-1 this week, but they had to work really hard to beat Oklahoma and Sacramento and were embarrassed by the Cavs at the Staples Center. wRatio takes into consideration the strength of the winning record, meaning how easily a team wins and how hard it loses, and that’s why the Lakers have relinquished the #1 spot.
  • San Antonio improves its wRatio from 5.98 to 7.63, thanks to a 2-1 week with comfortable wins against the Clippers and the Bucks and a very close loss to the Blazers.
  • Portland jumps from #12 to #10. The Blazers went 4-0 this week, beating the Heat, the Mavs, the Spurs and the Nuggets despite all of the injuries affecting the team.
